We are joining with Christ to transform Williamsport with the Gospel for the glory of God and the good of our city.
We see ourselves as a family of missionaries who love Jesus and love our city. We believe the church is meant to be the incarnated people of God in every neighborhood. Our desire is to see Christ's renewal in every corner of the greater Williamsport community. We gather on Sundays to celebrate Jesus as a family, but we live as the sent people of God throughout the greater Williamsport area through missional communities called City Groups.
Our story began when God gave a vision to a handful of friends to plant a church in Williamsport, PA. In January 2012, six families began meeting for prayer and Bible study in the Sweetings’ living room. By March, that city group relocated to Alabaster Coffee in downtown Williamsport. In September 2012, we launched our worship gathering as City Alliance Church. Since then, our community has continued to be shaped by the Gospel, sought new ways to serve and bless our city, and have continued to see God’s faithfulness along the journey.
In 2015, we entered a partnership with First Baptist Church - one of Williamsport's oldest congregations. The people of First Baptist gave us the opportunity to make their historic facility our new home in the heart of our city for the good of our city. As we put our roots down in the heart of Williamsport, we’re overjoyed to become tethered to the history of local church in our city, and seek Gospel renewal in our city for generations into the future.
As a local church, we seek to reflect Jesus Christ through embodying a Gospel-driven culture of:
Transformation: Jesus changes everything.
(2 Corinthians 5:17)
Grace: God loves messy people.
(Romans 5:8)
Presence: The Gospel creates community.
(1 Thessalonians 2:8)
Risk: The Spirit empowers mission.
(Acts 1:8)
We belong to the Christian & Missionary Alliance. Our Christ-centered, Acts 1:8 family is bound together by our love for Jesus Christ and our passion to make His love known to all peoples - from our neighborhoods to the nations.
